From November 2 to 6, 2022, leaders of right-to-die organizations from many parts of the globe gathered in Toronto for the World Federation of Right to Die Societies (WFRTDS) Conference hosted by Dying With Dignity Canada. HSSD is proud to be longstanding members of WFRTDS. Click here for more information
Among the many conference attendees were three dedicated members of the Hemlock Society of San Diego—Faye Girsh (founder and board member), Janet Hager (board member), and Pamela Harper (member and volunteer), who all traveled at their own cost. Faye, Janet, and Pam will discuss updates on the global Right-to-Die movement and their take-aways from the conference. Among the many topics presented in Toronto were:
- Palliative Care and MAID
- Accurate Language for Law Reform
- An Alzheimer’s Odyssey
- Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED)
- And much more
Because U.S. state laws on medical aid in dying are modeled after those in other countries, it is imperative that we stay up-to-date with the latest international clinical, legal, and social developments as well as what’s happening in our states. Please join us on Zoom to learn about the very latest news from RTD movement leaders from around the world.
